Ireland is one of the most romantic wedding destinations in the world — and it is even better when it is intimate. More couples than ever are choosing micro weddings: celebrations of 50 guests or fewer, where every person in the room truly matters.
But finding the right venue is not easy. Most Irish wedding venues are built for 150+ guests, and many have guest minimums that rule out smaller celebrations entirely. The phone call where you say "actually, we're only having twenty" should not feel like an apology.
We have verified every venue in this guide to confirm they genuinely welcome small weddings — no awkward phone calls, no minimum spend surprises. Whether you are dreaming of a castle elopement for two or a country house celebration for forty, here are Ireland's best micro wedding venues.

Few countries do castle weddings quite like Ireland. With more castles per square mile than almost anywhere in Europe, you are not short of options. And when your guest list is small, the fairytale becomes surprisingly affordable.

How to choose your micro wedding venue
A few practical notes from what we have learned:
Visit in person. Photos only tell half the story. The drive up, the light in the dining room, the way the host greets you at the door — these things matter, and you cannot feel them on a screen.
Ask about minimum spend, not just minimum guests. Some venues welcome small weddings but have a minimum spend that assumes a certain headcount. Get the real number before you fall in love with the place.
Check what is included. At the best micro wedding venues, accommodation, catering, and exclusive use are often bundled into one price. At others, they are all separate. Compare like with like.
Book midweek for better rates. Many venues offer significant discounts for weekday weddings — and with a smaller guest list, your guests are more likely to be able to make a Thursday or Friday work.
Trust the food. Ireland's food scene has transformed. Farm-to-table is not a trend here — it is a tradition. Ask about the menu. Let the chef guide you. You will not be disappointed.
