Rosspark sits on Doagh Road on the edge of Ballymena, about half an hour from Belfast, and holds only one wedding a day. For small numbers it runs a dedicated Intimate Package, available Sunday to Thursday, which matches the room to your guest list: Boardroom 2 for 8 to 14 guests, Boardroom 1 for 15 to 20 and the Tardree Suite for 21 to 40.

On that package your guests have the Conservatory to themselves when they arrive and again after the meal, and the evening reception moves to either the Ross Suite or the Garden Lounge, a newer arrival space with a private bar kept for wedding guests. The gardens are yours for the day too. Ceremonies are held in the purpose-built Wedding Pavilion in the wooded grounds, a bright room with a feature window onto the gardens, and the hotel can stream the service live for anyone who cannot travel.

The meal is four courses, agreed with your wedding coordinator, with one starter, one main and two desserts, and a second main can be added with a week's notice. Vegetarian dishes are offered. Each guest gets two glasses of house wine or Shloer, with fruit cordial on the tables, and the two of you are met with a red carpet and champagne. A master of ceremonies, crystal centrepieces, Louis chairs with white linen, a fairy light backdrop and a self-fill candy cart and crisp wall are all part of it.

The honeymoon suite with a full Irish breakfast is an add-on on the intimate package rather than included, so book it early. The hotel also has a restaurant, the Lobby Bar and separate treatment rooms on site. Two caveats: the intimate package does not run on Fridays or Saturdays, when the larger packages carry a high minimum number of adult guests, and the website does not say whether the Pavilion is licensed for civil ceremonies, so ask the wedding team before you plan around it.
