Stratton Court Barn sits on a 70-acre site in the village of Stratton Audley, with rose gardens, woodland, a lake and open grassland around a cluster of restored barns. The whole place is booked for one couple at a time, and there is no minimum guest number, so the team happily hosts elopements with as few as four guests as well as small family weddings.
For 20 to 50 people, the Main Barn is the natural choice. It seats up to 90, with original stonework, flagstone floors, oak beams and tall windows, so a smaller group can spread out without it feeling empty. The site holds an Oxfordshire County Council licence covering indoor, outdoor and woodland spaces, so you can marry in the barn, the courtyard, the rose garden or among the trees of Ferne Wood, then book your registrar directly with the county. If you prefer a church, several local churches lie within 15 minutes, the nearest being in the village itself.
Catering works through a list of six approved caterers, which gives you plenty of choice of style, while the bar is run by the venue's own staff with local beers and gins on offer. Guests can pay as they go, or you can run a tab. Music and drinks finish at 11.30pm, with guests off site by midnight unless you pay to extend.
On-site accommodation is limited. Granary Cottage has two double bedrooms and sleeps four, ideal for the two of you plus close family, and there is a camping and glamping field next to the barns for guests who fancy it. Everyone else will need rooms nearby, and the venue shares a guide to local accommodation and taxis. Parking is free, and cars can stay overnight. The barns are accessible for wheelchair users, with a ramp into the Main Barn and accessible toilets, though the Hayloft getting-ready room and the cottage's upstairs bedrooms are not. It is worth asking about weekday dates too.
