For couples bringing anywhere from two to around forty guests, the celebration happens at the house itself, a Georgian property dating from 1760, with a marquee and bell tents available to hire if you want extra space outdoors. The walled garden tucked behind the house is the obvious spot for portraits and drinks, and the private grounds are yours for photographs. If your list grows, the same family can host up to 250 at Tomneys Bar, which dates from 1765, or let you take over the whole of Charlemont House privately.

The house runs as a bed and breakfast, so staying over is part of the appeal. Guests booking rooms for the wedding get a reduced rate, breakfast is cooked to order each morning and there is a hot tub, drawing room and courtyard to enjoy between celebrations.
