The Valley Hotel is a family-run hotel on Main Street in Fivemiletown, right on the line between Tyrone and Fermanagh. Enniskillen is about 20 minutes away and the M1 around 40 minutes via the A4, which keeps travel simple for guests coming from Belfast or across the border. The hotel holds only one wedding a day.

There are two places to marry. Outdoors, the Carriage Gardens host the ceremony and drinks reception, with a fountain at the entrance and lawn games for younger guests. Indoors, the Altmore Suite is the ceremony and reception room. For a civil ceremony the hotel gives you the form you need, and you then arrange the registrar through Mid Ulster Council in Dungannon.

Food is led by Head Chef Tony O'Neill, who works with local produce. The packages are built around a four or five-course meal with an evening buffet, and extras such as canapés, a gin bar or an additional course can be added. Dietary needs and allergies are catered for. There are 22 refurbished bedrooms including a family room, and every package includes a complimentary suite for the couple on the wedding night. Unbooked rooms are released four weeks before the date, so guests are best booking their own early. Bands can play until about 1.30am, depending on the act.

The caveat for a small wedding is scale. The Altmore Suite and gardens each hold up to 220, and one of the packages needs at least 100 guests, so a party of 30 or 40 will want to ask how the team adapts the room or whether the Bordeaux Restaurant, which the hotel offers for smaller private gatherings, could work. Round Lake fishing, Clogher Valley golf and the Blessingbourne mountain bike trails are all a few minutes away for guests staying on.
