Peterstone Court is a historic country house hotel nestled in the Brecon Beacons National Park, offering an idyllic setting for intimate weddings. Peterstone Court has been hosting weddings for more than 30 years, and on your wedding day the whole house is handed over to you. It welcomes celebrations from around 25 guests, which makes it a natural fit for a small wedding, and it also runs relaxed house parties over more than one day for couples who want the celebration to stretch out.

There are three ways to say your vows. You can marry in one of the licensed rooms inside or out in the open with the mountains in view. The third option is the church of St Peter and St Illtyd, a short walk from the house. Afterwards the party can move between the ballroom, the bar, the courtyard, the terrace and the gardens. Food is flexible too: a long banquet table, sharing feasts or wood-fired pizza out in the courtyard are all on the menu, with cocktails, champagne on the terrace and Welsh ales and wines to drink.

For staying over, there are eight bedrooms in the main house and four duplex rooms in the converted stables, twelve in all. That covers your closest people, but with a guest list near 50 some will need to stay nearby, so it is worth planning that early. The spa sits in the old vaulted cellars and offers treatments and spa days, which is a nice way to fill the morning before or the day after.

The house is in Llanhamlach, just outside Brecon, inside Bannau Brycheiniog. Guests staying on can head to Llangorse, where the activity centre is under 15 minutes away by car for pony trekking or climbing, and the lake offers walks and boat hire. If you are flexible on dates, the venue has run winter offers for January and February built around 24 guests, so a quieter season can suit a small wedding well.
