Summerfield House is a private, exclusive-use country house on eight acres outside Kingsbarns, a short drive from St Andrews on the Fife coast. Six bedrooms sleep 12 and the dining table seats 14, so it suits a small wedding where everyone stays under one roof for a few nights. There's room in the grounds for a ceremony, a standing celebration for around 30 or a marquee if you want more. A private chef, piper and chauffeur can all be arranged.

Summerfield House sits on eight private acres outside Kingsbarns in the East Neuk of Fife, a few minutes from St Andrews and the coast. It began as a historic building and has been reworked over several years into a calm, contemporary house. It's let on an exclusive-use basis, so for the length of your stay the house and grounds are yours alone.

It works best for the smallest weddings. Six bedrooms sleep up to 12 and the dining table seats 14, which makes it a natural fit for a couple marrying with immediate family and closest friends, everyone staying together from the night before to the morning after. If the meal doesn't need to be seated the house can stretch to around 30 people, and for bigger plans the grounds have space for a marquee and caterers, with the wedding party using the house as a base.

Inside there are two lounges with wood-burning stoves and newly finished bathrooms with underfloor heating. Outside there's a covered kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven and grill, a sunken fire pit, a Japanese wooden hot tub, a tennis court and a play area with a treehouse for younger guests. A golf simulator and games room hint at the house's other life as a base for golf trips.

A private chef, butler, chauffeur and a piper to welcome guests can be arranged. Stays are a minimum of three nights, from £2,400 a night including VAT.
