There is a version of wedding planning that looks like a part-time job. Eleven supplier contracts, a spreadsheet with tabs, a hundred emails about chair delivery windows. And there is another version where you book one venue, agree one menu, pay one bill and spend the months before the wedding doing almost nothing at all. For a wedding of 50 guests or fewer, the second version is not a compromise. It might be the whole point.

All-inclusive packages get a strange press in the wedding world, mostly because the phrase arrived from package holidays and big hotel ballrooms. But strip the label back and what it describes is simple: a venue that keeps the kitchen, the furniture, the staff and usually the planning under its own roof, and prices the lot together. For a small wedding that changes everything, because the fixed costs that sting at 40 guests, delivery fees, staffing minimums, marquee hire, simply disappear into a number you knew from the first email.

We list well over a hundred venues across the UK and Ireland that work this way, from Highland castles to canalside gardens. These are the ones we would send a busy couple to first, grouped by the kind of day they do best, with what the packages really cover and the questions worth asking before you sign anything.

The Country Houses That Do Everything

The classic shape of the all-inclusive small wedding is a country house with its own chef, its own beds and a team that has run the day a hundred times.

Tern Hill Hall near Market Drayton is Shropshire doing what Shropshire does best. A family-run country house taken on an exclusive use basis, with twelve individually designed en-suite bedrooms, menus built by the in-house chefs and a team that tailors the day whether you bring two guests or a full house. Nothing is outsourced, which is precisely why nothing gets lost. Hire from £4,000 for up to 50 guests.

In Cheshire, Lyme Breeze takes the refreshingly blunt approach of charging no venue hire at all. Everything sits inside one package price: the licensed ceremony spaces indoors and out, fresh food cooked on site, drinks, service and a dedicated wedding planner thrown in with every booking. It has been quietly doing this since 2008 on private grounds with canalside views, and it remains one of the best value routes to a fully organised wedding in the north west. Packages from £3,000 for up to 50 guests.

The Whole-Weekend Packages

Some venues bundle more than the day. They bundle the days either side too, which suits a small guest list better than anyone else.

Butley Priory, a 700-year-old former monastery gatehouse in the Suffolk countryside near Woodbridge, sells an exclusive three-day wedding experience with on-site beds for up to 47 guests and a vaulted Great Hall that makes photographers weep. It is licensed for legal ceremonies, released for a limited number of weekends each year and built around the idea that the inner circle stays the whole weekend. From £4,000.

The Hotels That Make It Easy

A good small hotel is the original all-inclusive venue. The kitchen, the bar, the beds and the staff were always under one roof. The trick is finding one that gives a party of 40 the run of the place.

The Cosener's House in Abingdon, eight miles from Oxford, is an 18th-century house on the banks of the Thames with private gardens running down to the river, fifty bedrooms and an events team that handles the lot. Dinner is classic British cooking from the house kitchen, the bar is yours and nobody has to book a taxi. Exclusive use from £3,000 for up to 50 guests, with weekday dates welcomed.

On Mayo's wild Atlantic coast near Geesala, the Erris Coast Hotel is a stylishly refurbished 31-bedroom family-run hotel where the sea does the decorating. Celebrations run through the Nephin Restaurant and Millington Bar with the hotel's own kitchen behind them, and wedding packages are quoted per guest, from €149 a head with the food included, which keeps the maths honest for a party of 30 or 40. The whole guest list sleeps upstairs and breakfast the next morning is part of the story.

The Castle That Comes With Everything

And because this is the UK and Ireland, the all-in approach reaches all the way to the turrets. Achnagairn Castle at Kirkhill, just outside Inverness, is an exclusive use Scottish castle that packages the ballroom, the bridal suite, luxury accommodation through the castle itself and in-house dining into one celebration for up to 40 guests. Scotland's marry-anywhere law means the ceremony can happen wherever in the grounds your celebrant will stand. From £5,000, which for a private Highland castle with the organisation done for you is quieter value than it first looks.

Reading the Package: What to Check Before You Sign

All-inclusive is a description, not a standard, and no two venues draw the line in the same place. Five checks keep the surprises out.

Get the contents in writing. Ask for the package as a list, not a brochure paragraph. Venue, catering, staffing, furniture, linen and coordination should all appear. If flowers, photography or styling are mentioned, ask whether they are included, discounted or simply recommended.

Find the edges. The usual extras that sit outside a package are drinks beyond a welcome glass, corkage if you bring your own, extra hours past midnight and supplier meals. None are dealbreakers. All are better discovered now, and our breakdown of what a 30 guest wedding actually costs shows how the full budget fits together.

Ask who books the legal part. A licensed venue hosts the ceremony but you usually give notice and book the registrar or celebrant yourself, and the clocks differ across these islands, 28 days in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, 29 in Scotland and three full months in Ireland. Our guide to getting legally married in Ireland vs the UK covers every jurisdiction. A handful of packages, Runaway Irish Weddings among them, arrange the celebrant for you.

Check the substitution policy. If you already love a photographer, make sure the package lets you bring them. Good venues flex. The ones that do not will at least tell you now rather than in March.

Count the beds against the guest list. The venues above sleep anywhere from a dozen to fifty. If the whole party stays, the wedding becomes a weekend. If only some can, ask the venue for its list of nearby rooms before the guests start booking blind.

One more honest note: all-inclusive does the heavy lifting, but it does not plan itself. Dates still need holding and notice still needs giving, and our six month planning guide maps the short runway these venues make possible. If you are still choosing the date itself, the 2027 calendar is worth a read before the good Saturdays go.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an all-inclusive wedding package usually include?

At minimum, the venue, in-house catering and staffing on the day. Most packages add tables, linen, crockery and a coordinator or planner, and the most complete versions fold in flowers, photography, celebrant arrangements and accommodation. Every venue draws the line differently, so ask for the package contents in writing and check whether registrar or celebrant fees, drinks and extra hours sit inside or outside the price.

How much does an all-inclusive micro wedding cost in the UK and Ireland?

For 50 guests or fewer, complete packages at the venues in our directory mostly land between £3,000 and £5,000, or around €3,500 to €5,000 in Ireland, before drinks and extras. Hotel-style venues often quote per guest instead, typically €100 to €150 a head with food included, which can work out very well for parties of 30 to 40.

Are all-inclusive wedding packages cheaper than booking everything separately?

Usually, for small weddings. The venue buys catering, furniture and staffing at trade terms and sells them as one price, and you save the delivery fees and minimum spends that catch out couples hiring six suppliers for forty guests. The trade-off is less choice over individual suppliers, so couples with a dream photographer or florist should check the package allows substitutions.

Can you still personalise an all-inclusive wedding?

Yes, and the good venues expect you to. All-inclusive describes who organises things, not what the day looks like. Menus are usually built with the chef, most venues welcome your own decor and many will swap package elements for credit. The question to ask at the viewing is what cannot be changed, because that list is what you are really buying.

Do all-inclusive venues handle the legal side of getting married?

Some do and some leave it with you. A licensed venue can host the legal ceremony itself but you still book the registrar or celebrant and give notice yourself, at least 28 days ahead in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, 29 in Scotland and three months in Ireland. A few packages go further and arrange the celebrant for you, so ask exactly who books whom.

One Booking, Whole Wedding

The couples who choose all-inclusive are not the ones who care least about their wedding. They are usually the ones who care most about actually being at it, present and unbothered, while someone whose job this is runs the kitchen and counts the chairs. If that sounds like you, start where the packages live: our all-inclusive collections for England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland gather every venue we have verified for 50 guests or fewer, with honest capacities and real prices. One booking. One bill. One very good day.
